Overview

WorkIntent (“the App”) is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your data stays on your device, and we do not collect, track, or sell any personal information.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data.

WorkIntent operates entirely offline by default. All your session data, pointers, and settings are stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework.

What We Don’t Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, phone number)
  • Usage analytics or behavior tracking
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers
  • Crash reports (unless you opt-in via Apple)
  • Any data from your sessions or work logs

Data Storage

Local Storage

All app data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Work sessions and timestamps
  • Pointers (work intent bullet points)
  • App settings and preferences

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud sync.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you choose to enable iCloud sync:

  • Your data syncs across your Apple devices using Apple’s CloudKit
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
  • We cannot access your iCloud data
  • You can disable sync at any time in Settings
  • Disabling sync removes data from iCloud but keeps local data intact

Third-Party Services

WorkIntent does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

The only third-party service involved is Apple’s CloudKit (if you enable iCloud sync), which is governed by Apple’s privacy practices.

Data Sharing

We do not share your data with anyone.

Your session data, summaries, and exports remain entirely under your control. When you copy a summary to your clipboard or export data, only you decide where that information goes.

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

  • Your data persists until you delete it within the app
  • Uninstalling the app removes all local data
  • iCloud data (if enabled) follows Apple’s retention policies

Children’s Privacy

WorkIntent does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no account system, so no personal information is ever requested.

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

  • Access: View all your data directly in the app
  • Export: Export your data in Plain Text, Markdown, or CSV format
  • Delete: Delete individual sessions or all data from within the app
  • Portability: Your exported data is in standard formats you can use anywhere

Security

Your data is protected by:

  • Apple’s device encryption
  • Apple’s CloudKit encryption (if iCloud sync is enabled)
  • No network transmission (offline-first design)
  • No external servers or databases

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will:

  • Update the “Last Updated” date at the top
  • Notify users via App Store release notes for significant changes
